Waste-to-Energy Solutions
Waste-to-Energy (WtE) converts waste into usable electricity and heat. Most WtE processes achieve this through combustion or by producing burnable fuels like methanol, ethanol, and methane. Modern incinerators can reduce waste volume by over 95% with minimal emissions, making them environmentally safe and common in Europe and Asia. The primary byproduct, heat, can be used for district heating where applicable.
QBC offers Waste-to-Energy consulting to help you explore this alternative. While we don’t provide in-house WtE services, we can identify contaminated materials unsuitable for traditional recycling and develop a plan to handle them. We assist in selecting a proper WtE company and arranging for sorting and transport to the appropriate facility.
We also consult on emerging technologies that transform waste into energy without direct combustion, such as:
- Gasification:Converts waste into gas, hydrogen, or other fuels.
- Thermal Depolymerization: Produces synthetic crude oil.
- Anaerobic Digestion: Generates methane biogas.
- Fermentation: Produces ethanol, hydrogen, etc.
- Mechanical Biological Treatment (MBT): Uses new technologies to create fuel from waste.
